Rabula road revamp.

Towards the end of May Rabula populace saw road machinery planted. The contractor is set to revamp a length of about 10 km. The revamping will start at Ngqeqe location to near Zanyokhwe, which is out of Rabula. Residents have showed joy as this will not only re build the roads to a better state but also provide jobs to the youth. They also have hope that this will at least reduce the number of crime incidents as people will have work, meaning they will be busy most of the time. The construction is targeted to be complete towards the end of the year.

Girlfriend allegedly murdered by her boyfriend.

It is alleged that a young man from Rabula murdered his girlfriend and dumped her in the river. It is believed that they are from the same rural area of Emagcumeni,Upper Rabula and they have been together for a while. The motive for the killing is, at this stage unclear.

Rabula residents on a stand against an alleged rapist.

Rabula residents are to have a meeting today with Keiskammahoek police regarding their complaint. The residents are complaining about a young man that allegedly recently raped an 80 years old granny last moth. He was arrested but later released. Residents says they do not want him in their community as he is a threat, especially on females. After the incident the granny was admitted to hospital but later died and was buried last weekend. The complaint from residents came after granny's burial. It is also alleged that it is not the first time the rapist do something of this nature but he was earlier not sentenced. The meeting is set to start at 10 o'clock.
